Ganga Quest is a national bilingual (Hindi and English) online quiz on Ganga organized by TREE Craze Foundation (TCF), a not for
profit organization committed to Ganga, Rivers, and Environment and National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), an authority under Government of India
which implements the ‘Namami Gange’ programme and, Wildlife Institute of India (WII), a premier internationally acclaimed institute on wildlife research
and management. It is sponsored by VA Tech Wabag, an Indian multinational company, pioneering in sustainable water solutions.
Operating since 2014, TREE Craze Foundation (TCF) is a not for profit (section -8) company committed to the cause of Trees, Rivers,
Ecosystems & Environment. TCF is revolutionizing the environment education space by innovating the pedagogy and involving committed work force to
inculcate attitude building in place of mere awareness followed up by a unique Trust based model of communities’ engagement.
Namami Gange is supporting Ganga Quest by providing necessary administrative and knowledge support. National Mission for Clean Ganga
(NMCG), the implementing agency of Namami Gange programme, has special focus on youth and students in its public outreach strategy. NMCG has taken several
initiatives for engaging youth and school children to connect people to the Namami Gange programme, including Meri Ganga Quiz in collaboration with Doordarshan.
It is not only a competitive knowledge building platform but also an awareness initiative and scientific baseline determination
exercise to assess the knowledge gaps and attitude orientation about Ganga and Rivers. The participants will enhance their knowledge about rivers and
environment. It will also connect them to the Namami Gange programme. Also, this will give a chance to win exciting prizes.
The uniqueness of the quiz lies in its format as this is an online quiz. Once you register yourself, you will be
given the login Id and password. You must login to attempt the quiz. The quiz will be live from 22nd of April to 22nd of May 2020.
You can attempt the quiz anytime.
You may attempt the quiz multiple times to enhance your knowledge but your performance of the first time will be taken
into account when announcing the winners.
In 2020, Ganga Quest website will provide facility to perform mass registration for schools and universities.
We encourage schools and universities to attempt for mass registration.
There are a number of checks and validation to ensure the authenticity of a participant. However, one must remember that
the aim of this quiz is to raise awareness and not to create a competition as such.

Grade upto 8th: Top 3 get Amazon Kindle and a Certificate signed by DG (NMCG)
Grade from 9th to 10th: Top 3 get Amazon Kindle and a Certificate signed by DG (NMCG)
Grade from 11th to 12th: Top 3 get Tablets and aCertificate signed by DG (NMCG)
All who have passed schools: Top 3 get Digicam and a Certificate signed by DG (NMCG)
Schools: For Maximum Participation a trophy of Ganga Champions and a certificate from DG (NMCG)

Daisy Dolphin is a Gangetic dolphin and will be your companion throughout the Quiz.
Gangetic Dolphins are the national aquatic animal of India and are the only species of freshwater dolphins
that are not yet extinct. They are the flagship species of river Ganga and signify the river health.
They are currently under threat and their population is continuously declining.
Anyone above 10 years of age can participate in Ganga Quest. Adults are also eligible to participate however the difficulty
of questions vary basis age.
There are three rounds in Ganga Quest – Round I and Round II are qualifying rounds. There is no right or wrong answer in Round I as
only your perception is captured. The only condition is that you have to attempt all 10 questions. In Round II also you have to attempt all 10 questions
however, here there is a condition that you can move to the next round only when you have attempted all answers correctly. The good news is that you can
attempt it as many number of times as possible and it will not affect your final performance. Winners are evaluated based on their performance (accuracy
and time taken) in Round III. In Round III, you have to select 2 out of 8 themes - Historical and Cultural Significance of Ganga, Flora and Fauna,
Current Affairs, Physical geography, Famous places and personalities, Livelihood, Governance, and a Socio-economic theme. Personal memoranda details
shall also be verified before announcing the winners, hence you are requested to fill details carefully at the time of registration.
You can go back to Round I and Round II from your dashboard. But when you are attempting Round III, please make sure you have good
internet connectivity and power backup.
Yes, Ganga Quest 2020 is open to non-residents of India and also foreigners. However, the travel reimbursements to attend
the Prize Distribution for Ganga Quest is only available to residents of India.
At the end of each round, Daisy Dolphin will show you a summary of your performance. You will be
allowed to download your scorecard and certificate of participation.
Winners will be contacted on their email ids provided to us and their phone numbers at the time of registration.
At any point of time,should you wish to change your details, you can do so from your dashboard. Please make sure that correct details
are provided to avoid disqualification.
Winners will be given prize on World Environment Day, i.e. 5th June 2020 and their names
will be published on the website soon after.
Registration for Ganga Quest will start on 7th of April 2020 and the quiz will remain active from 22nd of April 2020
to 22nd of May 2020, and the winners will be announced on 5th June 2020.
All participants will get a certificate of participation. The certificate of participation can be downloaded from
your online profile.
